Located in the municipality of Serris, the Émilie du Châtelet Lycée, designed by architect Badia Berger, will as of this starting school year in September be hosting 905 pupils taking general teaching courses as well as technological and professional teaching in the hotel & catering sector.
The new establishment is set on a 25,523-m2 land plot in the ZAC du Centre Urbain in Val d’Europe and features a building of 14,350 m2 in net surface area distributed over 3 levels and a part basement. Outdoor structures include a local road network, an 88-spot car park, a playground and landscaped areas.
The building features classrooms, cross-functional premises such as a documentation and information centre, an amphitheatre seating 150, a training restaurant open to the public, half-board facilities and eight tied accommodation units.
This operation was conducted as part of a QE (Environmental Quality) approach, as defined by the CSTB (French Building Trade Scientific and Technical Centre), with the completion of a wood-burning boiler room.
