The Cité Descartes is located at Champs-sur-Marne at 15 km outside Paris. 1st tertiary centre in Marne-la-Vallée specializing in research and education, the site covers 123 hectares located at less than 20 minutes from the centre of Paris by A4 motorway and is accessible on foot from the «Noisy Champs» RER A station.


The Cité Descartes hosts both the top tertiary centre and a research and education centre of worldwide renown. The centre sits in an exceptional environment combining an urban atmosphere with a campus feel.

The centre already has 85,000 m² of office space, business centres, a hotbed for innovative businesses, 137,000 m² of approved research premises alongside businesses, restaurants, hotels and services etc....

It will be strengthened by a further 237,000 m² of tertiary spaces (including 103,000 m² devoted to the MEDAD scientific and technical centre) and by services designed to support corporate life and provide employee comfort, as well as by 150,000 m² space allocated to research and development.

THE PARIS EAST UNIVERSITY RESEARCH AND FURTHER EDUCATION CENTRE
The Cité Descartes is an address acknowledged for the excellence of its education and research centres : ENPC, Université de Marne-la-Vallée, Ecole Nationale des Sciences Géographiques, ESIEE, Institut Français de l’Urbanisme, Ecole Nationale Supérieure Louis Lumières…

All or part of these establishments are grouped round the Public Interest Groups called POLYTECHNICUM. The centre will soon be welcoming the Ministry of Ecology Scientific and Technical Centre (PST), the Durable Development Centre (MEDAD) encompassing a total of 103,000 m² and establishments as prestigious as the Central Civil Engineering Laboratory, the SETRA, part of the INRETS and part of the CSTB.

The «PST» will account for 800 persons including approximately 1,000 researchers. The PST relocation will be accompanied by the construction of the Descartes + building, a future energy efficiency benchmark centre.
